Actually, Joan Jett’s excellent cover version of the Arrows “I love rock n roll” was turned into a classic by the expert promotion of the late Neil Bogart of Boardwalk records, his last hurrah before he passed away after a brilliant career in music. The Arrows producer Mickie Most didn’t like the song very much and didn’t promote it with any energy in 1975, not compared to his usual aggressive RAK records promotional tactics, a label with lots of chart success. The Arrows bad luck with their label in ’75 was in the end Joan Jett’s good luck in ’82.
