John Coltrane – “Venus” (1967)

The great Trane right before his death, playing with drummer Rashied Ali. This is taken from the album Interstellar Space and reflects the more experimental “free” direction Trane took during this period. This was recorded on Feb. 22, 1967 – five months before his untimely passing from liver cancer.
