Brian Wilson – “Good Kind of Love” (2008)
Taken from Brian’s brand new album That Lucky Old Sun – one of the catchier moments off the set. This album is the best thing he’s done in his solo career since his self-titled 1988 album (not including 2004’s Smile album of course).
This album sounds better in its entirety though, rather than hearing individual songs out of context. Definitely check it out.
Nirvana – “Lithium” (TV – 1992)
Live at the 1992 MTV Music Video Awards show. Dave Grohl goes mental on the drums.
Pearl Jam – “No Woman, No Cry”/”Betterman” (Live – 2006)
Live from Arnhem, Netherlands, Aug. 29, 2006 – Eddie Vedder starts out singing a bit of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” before leading into “Betterman” (with lots of audience participation), then returns to “No Woman” – amateur video.
Organisation – “Milk Rock” (1970)
Another track from Tone Float by Organisation, the band that soon became Kraftwerk. Later on, it was re-released under the band name Kraftwerk – Organisation (presumably to sell more records). But even though this band included Hutter and Schneider, this is before Kraftwerk.
Later on, they denounced this album and the first few Kraftwerk albums. Considering that their sound and style changed so radically, it’s not hard to understand. But this was interesting stuff.
Rage Against the Machine – “Guerilla Radio” (TV – 1999)
Live on Letterman…this performance is interesting because it’s outside, rather than in the Letterman studio.
Pearl Jam – “Corduroy” (Live – 2005)
Live in Santiago, Chile, Nov. 22, 2005…
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – “Electricity” (Video – 1980)
OMD…their first single…
Yamo – Electronic Press Kit (1997 – Part 1)
Yamo was created by Wolfgang Flur, who was originally in Kraftwerk and who left in the late 1980s.
Part 2 coming up…
