The Wildweeds – “No Good to Cry” (1967)
Future NRBQ member “Big” Al Anderson sang this great white soul classic. It was a regional hit in CT (they originated from Windor) and made it briefly to #88 on the national charts (released on Cadet Records, a subsidiary of Chess) – but it was never as big as it clearly should have been. It’s a timeless song nonetheless.
