“The Story of the Undertones: Teenage Kicks” (2003 – Part 1)
A very interesting documentary about the great Northern Ireland band The Undertones….starring the world’s greatest DJ – the late, great John Peel, who helped the ‘Tones get their start & claimed their “Teenage Kicks” to be the greatest song ever written.
This is part one of the documentary….more installments to come…
The Ramones – “Sheena is a Punk Rocker” (Live @ CBGB’s – 1977)
Another classic song recorded at CBGB’s…
The Ramones – “Beat on the Brat” (Live @ CBGB’s – 1977)
Recorded live at the famous & now-defunct CBGB’s from 1977. This was like a second home to the Ramones from this era and basically where they built their reputation.
The Ramones – “Havana Affair” (Live @ Max’s Kansas City – 1976)
This one recorded at the famous Max’s Kansas City in NYC on October 8, 1976 (in between first and second albums).
Sound quality isn’t the best…but considering the source & the time it was recorded, this is classic punk rock.
The Ramones – “Blitzkrieg Bop” (Live in Hamburg)
The bruddas from Forest Hills, Queens…performing live in a studio in Hamburg, Germany. Not sure of date on this – possibly 1976 or 77…?
Anyhow, rock n roll…
The Undertones – “Wednesday Week” (Video – 1980)
Rare promo clip – taken from their brilliant punk-pop classic Hypnotised.
The Undertones – “My Perfect Cousin” (Live – 1980)
One of my favourite punk-pop groups from my teenage years…
This was recorded live on the “Something Else” TV show…
Chuck Berry – “Let It Rock” and “Nadine (Is That You?)” (Live – 1991)
Chuck Berry on “The Tonight Show” from 1991, including a short interview with Johnny Carson…
Chuck Berry – “Memphis Tennessee” (Live – 1972)
The man who more or less invented that little thing we call rock n roll…
Live in concert from 1972…
