Sweat Band – “Hyper Space” (1980)
This is a total P-Funk experience. Bootsy is the main instigator here, but it also includes Fred Wesley, Mike Hampton, Bernie Worrell, Garry Shider and Joel “Razor Sharp” Johnson.
This great funk instrumental showcases Mike Hampton on wailing guitar and is an obscure gem from an unjustly ignored Bootsy side project. Originally released on the George Clinton-created Uncle Jam label.
