Ruth Copeland w/ Funkadelic – “Suburban Family Lament” (1971)
This is a woman named Ruth Copeland being backed by none other than Funkadelic. She was an obscure singer and didn’t have the greatest voice – but this might be her best moment. Check out Tiki Fullwood’s drumming & Eddie Hazel’s guitar playing. This is a very obscure recording but is interesting for any Funkadelic fan out there. Especially their early style.
